These songs represent different tunings, influences, approaches and techniques. They were recorded at different times and in different places and I didn't think I'd put them out together until I accidentally dropped them all into one folder and listened to them in a random order. Then they made more sense to me. A lot of them were ideas that I wanted to jot down before I forgot them and others were just studies in different techniques like writing a song on bass first, instead of guitar, or sampling and chopping up other people's songs. There's also some Nick Drake influenced tunings as well. Some are pretty rough, but I wanted to throw them out there, warts and all. What the hell. I decided to release it as one long track mostly because I love way that Godspeed You! Black Emperor recorded their albums, with one song starting before another one ended. Looking ahead, I want to ditch recording digitally and move to the four track, like back in the 90's, and with live drums, possibly re-recording some of these songs. I may put out a third part to Death or Glory Days as there were songs that I wanted to get but didn't have time for.
All of the songs were written and recorded by Shane Canyon Walsh, between 2008 and 2015, other than the
obviously deconstructed songs with chopped up samples.
